Lube is a blend of mineral oil and esters forming a lubricant used in water-based drilling fluids. LUBE finds application in all types of water-based drilling fluids systems: readily disperses into mud system with minimum shear. Reduces the coefficient of friction and thereby reduces torque, drag, and the possibility of stuck pipe is stable even at high temperature and is typically used in geothermal drilling activity and deep weels .
